day the County Engineer, by letter, dated May 25, 1956, advised the Board
that the,Kenmore Ridge sewage treatment plant and sewerage system constructed by
the Land Company of Virginia, Inc. pursuant to contract heretofore agreed upon by
this Board and the Corporation, had been constructed by the Gorporation and was
in a condition for the County to re~bive title to the sewage treatment plant and
sewerage ~ystem provided the following conditions are corrected:
A baffle board to be installed in the chlorination of
final tank.
2. The discharge sewerage line from the plant be installed as
per a drawing made by J.K.Timmons, dated January 10, 1956.
3. A pump robe installed over the final tank for periodic
flushing of the discharCe line of the plant.
~n motion of Mr.Britton, seconded by Mr. Goyne, it is resolved, that this Board
hereby requests the Land Company of Virginia, Inc. to complete the sewerage system
and sewage treatment plant in accordance with the contract heretofore a~reed upon
and when completed and operatin~ in a sa tisfactory manner, the system and treatmen,
plant willbe accepted by the Board for maintenance and opdration.
Be it Further Resolved: That Mr. Brooks, advise this Board within sixty (g0} days
of the progress being made and the condition of the sewage system and treatment
plant.
This day the County Road Engineer in accordance with directions from this Board
made report in writing upon his examination of Magnolia Avenue in Noweta Gardens
Matoaca Magisterial District, which report shows that in the opinion of the County
Road ~ngineer it is expedient that said road be established as a public road=
Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of Ur. Gill, it is resolved that
M~gnolia Avenue in Noweta Gerdens in Matoaca Magisterial D/-~riot, be, and
same is hereby established as a public road~
And be it further resolved, that the Virginia Department of Highways be, and
it hereby is requested to take into the Secondary Road System of Chesterfield Count
Magnolia ~venue, in the Noweta Gardens Subdivision, Matoaca Magisterial District,
from apoint on the southern end of Rt. 858, o2 of a mi~e southwardly to a turn-
around. This road se~ves 2 houses.
And be it further resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County
g~arantee a right of way to the State Uepartment of Highways of not less than
50 feet for this road.
On motion of Mr.Britton, seconded by Df. Gill, it is resolved that the Executive
Secr~tary be and he hereby is authorized to write to Mr. W.P.Leonard, stating
that this Board will accept for maintenance and operation the water system ~n
Pocoshock Heichts* provided the improvement as stated in a letter from Mr.
George Shropshire on ~aY 25th be accomplished.
On motion of Dr. ?~11, seconded by Hr.Britton, it is resolved that this Board
appropriate from rue unexpended surplus of the General Fund $333.33 to 2c-100=
ComDensation of License Inspector and $355.00 to 2c-319-Offtce Expenses.
And be it further resolved that the Treasurer of the County be nd he hereby is
requested to transfer from the unexpended surplus of ~
$333.33 to Item 2o-100 and $355.00 to Item 2o_319. the County s General Fund
On motion of Mr.Goyne, seconded by Df. Gill, it is resolved that the Executive
Secretary be authorized to have the Chester dump cleaned off and a fire lane
cut around the entire area at a cost not to exceed $500.00.

On motion of Br. ~ill, seconded by Mr.~a~ue, it is resolved that the Purchasin~
·Ksnt be and he hereby is authorized to purchase a two-way radio and have same
installed inthe personal car of the Civil Defense Coordinator, provided said radii
meets with the approval o£ M~. James W.Martin, who maintains the County radio
equipment.
It is here noted that the Board met in Committee with R.Stuart Royer & Associates
Gonsultin~ Engineers, todiscuss the matter of installin~ a s®wera~e system in
the northern part of the County.
On motion, the meetin~ is adjourned until 10:00 a.m. June lZ, 1956,
