This day the Board met to a~ain consider the proposed bud~et. After some
discussion, Mr. Hague made the following motion, ~hich was seconded by Mr. Goyne;
that the County raise the machinery tsx rate from 10¢ to 25¢ Der i~lO0.O0 of
value assessed. ~
~r. Ha~ue and Mr. Goyne voted "Ave".
Mr. ~Br~tton, Mr. Gunter and Mr. ~orner voted "No".
This day the Executive Secretary ~resented a p~oposed budget for the fiscal year
endin~ Juu~e 30, ~95~, t otallin~ ~3,~1~,~10.64, which increases the rate from
~l.~O~to ~1.90 per ~1OO.00 of the assessed evaluation, allowing of this amount
3¢ for Road Tax. ~
Upon consideration wh~;reof and on motion of Mr. R. J. Oritton, seconded by
~lr. J. i~. Gunter, it is resolved that this budget be tentatively aporoved and
advertised for final passage at the next regular meeting of this Bogrd.
This day the Chairman presented a notice from the Atlantic Coast Line R. R. that
it was considerin.? closin~ the tele§raph off~ce at Chester.
U~on consideration whe~reof, and on motion of Mr. H. T. Goyne, seconded by
Y~r~. J.~ P. Gunter, it is resolved that the Chairman be authorized to sign for
receipt of this nocice and that said notice be filed in the Board's papers.
On motion, it is resoived that t his meetin~'~ be adjourned unti~ 10:30 a.m.
on April 24, 1952.
