On motion of I,lr. Goyne, seconded by Y4r. Hague, it is resolved that this Board
rescind its }~revious motion of )larch 11, 1952, concerning the im~rovement of
Quay Street in the Village of Chester.
i4r. Goyne advised the Board tha% Quay Street in the Village of Chester had
da~'.~aged by the Seaboard Airline ~ailroad Company in removing a ban~ of dirt on
the easL side of the tracks between the tracks and Quay Street.
Upon consideeation whereof and..on motion of ~'ir. Goyne, seconded by
Britton, it is resolved t~at this Board request the Seaborad Airline Railroad
to improve the conuition of Quay Street ~o its for~,~er i'i%ness.
This day the Executive Secretary advised the Board that the Commonwealth's
Attorney had ruled that the plat submitted by l~[r. Weisiger on the subdivision
of "Lyndale" was inadeauate and it was also pointed out that Mr. Weisiger
would do everything necessary to obtain a r~lat suitable for recordation.
Upon consideration whereof, and on mo~ion of lVlr. Britton, seconded by i~lr.
Goyne, it is resolved that this Board renuest the Virgi:~ia De~rtment of High-
wags to begin work on the "Lyndale" subdivision as previously agreed, provided
we have in hand a written agreement from ~kr. Weisiger t~mt said plat will be
presented according to slecifications.
Due to the death of Mr. W. W. LaPrade the 'County has for the past few weeks been
without an official surveyor.
Upon consideration whereof and on motion of Mr. ~oyne, seconded by
Britton, it is resolved that this Board recommen~to the Circuit Court the n~ne
of Mr. Ben LaPrade for the job of County Surveyor.
On motion of Dr. Gill, seconded by ~[r. Gunter, it is resolved that this Board
urgently request the Atlantic Coast Line Ry. to study and re~aedy the hazardous
condition of the crossing on Rt. 1166, north of the North Petersgurg Station in
Chesterfield County.
On motion of Dr. Gill, seconded by *~ir. gritton, it is r~solved that this Board
direct the Treasurer of the County to transfer $25,O00.00 from the Construction
Fund of the Utility Department to the General Fund of the County.
On motion of Dr. Gill, scconded by ~4r. ~unter, it is resolved that t~is Board
direct the Treasurer of ~he County to transfer $25,000.00 from the General Fund
to %he Construction Fund of the utility Department for the purpose of making
extensions.
After ~uch discussion concerning future t~olicies of the Utility Department, and
on ~otion, the meeting is ordered ad ourned until the l~th day of October, 1952.
