10-07-1953 MinutesAt an adjourned meeting of the Bo~:rd of Supervisors of Ch~:;ster- fioid County, held at the Court- honse on October 7~ 1953, at 8:OO p.m. Present: Mr. Irvin G. Homer, Chairman r.r.k.J. B~itton Mr. H. T. Goyne Dr. Lobt. O. Gill Mr. Stanley lt.Hague, Jr. Absent: idr. J. P. Gunter This day a de!e.~,'c~tion of sor:e tb. irty-O~ve citizens appeared to ~rotest the apparent high .'ater bills for the months of August and September. This was explained t~artially by the fact that there were perhaps inaccurate readings of the water met?rs d tine Apri], May, June and July, that the exce~sive bills may h,Tve ~:,een an '~ccumulation durinz ~ha:.;e monhhs, and that the filter plant had actually pmnp-d over 5C~/~ mor~ :;~ater in Auzu~t and September than tim previous tw:, months period. However, since some of the bills presented seemed inordinatel hiffh, in consi, ler:tion whereof and on motlon of ~tr. Goyne, seconded by ~Lr. Britto it is resolved that this Bo~:rd make an adjustment of all water bills by Averaging the June, July, Au~zust and September bills of 1952 and adding 507; to the aw~rage, and if this i"; below the amount billed, an adjustment is to be made. And be i't ?urth,:~r resolved that this action does not include commercial ~ccounts which must be satisfactorily handled individially. This day fir. C. C. ':iells and fir. C. E. Curtis, members 0:6 the School Board, ap~eared before t~e Board of Supervisors reque ;ting that approval be given to the propssed hiring of an administrative a:-;;istant to the School Superintendent. !fter some discuasion it was; agreed that this matter be again discu sed at ~ 1-~ter Bo~rd meeting. On motion of Lit. Goyne, seconded by Mr. Britton, it is resolved that this Board requ~st the ttighway Department to take into the Secondary System of roads, the proposed new road b~;:: 'een Rt. 10 and itt. 618, and be it further resolved that a request be made for Federal aid in the constru .t ion costs of said road.
