This day a delegation appeared to protest granting of building permits for pre-
fabricated houses in Derwent Gardens. Came also, ~h-. Pinkney Sowers, ~r. James
Sowers, Mr. George, and Mr. J.A. tetsler and Mr. W.T. St. Clair, the latter two
being Consulting Engineers, employed by Mr. Sowers and his firm to propose National
Homes and verify the statements made as to the adequacy of timbers and other butldi~
materials. After considerable discussion oF the merits of National Homes, it is
resolbed on action of ir. Hague, seconded by Mr. ~nt~r, ~hat this /~oard oF Super-
visors, the same being the t~ilding Committee of ~ae ~oun~y, approve ~he applioa~lo
for PS.its of ~he Pre-fabricated lational Homes, as PreSently bet~ constructed
in ~hts 0oua~y, which plans have Previousl~ be~n approved by F.H.A. and lending
agencies and ~he construction materials have been approved by ~r. J.A.

Co~ittee, it is ~osolvod on motion of ~. Go~e, seconded by b~. ~itton, tha~
policy of Ghesterfield County ~ard of Supervisors for the extension of
mai~s within the Coun%y limits, be~ and tho s~e is hereby established as follows:
T~t Potential customers ownin= land not adjacent to the County, s wate~
mains and wishin~ to be served by an extension of said mains, from this date
must advance the enti~e cost of extending water mains to serve their p~operty~
the size and quality of such extension to be established by County offioials~
with tho undemstanding that ~0~ of said cost advanced by the cust~em
be ~efu~ded at the end of five (5) yea~s
to the County a g~oss ~eturn of ~0~, and' P~OVided tho ex~ension is paying
If said ex~ension is no~ payi~ ~0~
at the e~d of five {~) years, then 10~ depreciation per year will be c~rged
a~ainst the o~lglnal cost of the extension un~il such time as the ex~ensio~
pays 20~ to the County at which time the advanced oost~ less
will be ~ofu~ded, it bein~ understood t~ all
~efunds to come fcom the Utility Const~uotion Fu~d.

approve the Lesoo P~efabrioa~ed housing plans, which pl$~ is bel~ oonside~ed by
the ~ldinK Inspector, since it is apparent ~hat the construction and mate~ials~
size and quality, mee~ the p~esen~ ~ilding Code of the County.
