This day, Mr. Lordley, Assistant Director of Public Utilities for the City of
Richmond, appe~ed before the Board requesting the County's ae'pro~al of the orovose{
tank site for tl~ City of Richmond, and unon advise of tie Commonwealth s nttorney
there a~eared to be no need for such a~}p~oval by the County and therefore no reso- i
lution was adopted as to t~ aporoval. On motion of J.C.ldcKesson, it. is resolved
that the Executive Secret~,~y be authorized to issue a Permit to the City in the event
they apoly for same.
This day again l.m. Harry Easterly', Jr., a~leared belore the Board concerning the
furnishing of water to his smnufacturing plant on the Belt Boulevard. U~.on con-
sider;~tion whereof, and on motion, it is resolved that the same be continusd until
t~he next regular meet:lng of the Board.
This day again Dr, E. L. Boone and Dr. ~.~.V.Hunter presented the case of sewer and
water connections on Fou,-th Avenue in Ettrick. Ul~on consideration w~ereof, and
on motion of ~.b'.Covington, it is resolved that this work be done, the County to bear
the cost of material, the cost of labor to be borne by fir. Boone and Dr. Hunter.
This day ]',Ir. D.[.~.Murohey, ]qanager , Chesterfield Fair Association ap?~ared before
the Board and reouested that the Bo;~d appropriate sufficient funds to build a stable
on the Fair Grounds, usim.' the knocked down stable for the housing of horses apnear~ng
on the Fair ~rogram. 'U~on cons~cerataon waereof, and on rants_on o~ J.C.~-~cKesson,
it is resolved that, the said stable be built at a cost not to exceed {~600.00.
And be it f~rther resolved that the sum of :~600.00 be and it hereby is apnromriated
From the unanmropriated surnlus of the General Fund for this pure,ese and theft the
budget be amended accor'dingly.
And be it further resolved that the site for the proposed stable be selected by
idur~,hcy and the Ezecutive Secretary, with the advise of i.m. ¥~. A. Homer, if desire~.

to have the existing locks on the Fair ouitdings fixed or if necessar'y buy new ones

This day fir. ;fro. H. Sims of .'?,oseley, Virginia, made application for the rezoning of
a narcet of land frontinE on Rt. 605, between Rt. 603 and Rt.60~. On motion of
the Board, the Executive Secretary is authorized and directed to have the same
advertised according to law.
This day the E:~ecutive Secretary advised the 6oard that 8n every water and sewer
connection fee for the Sanitary District of Ettrick the County wa~ losing a~roximat~ly
~j'~30.OO for each such connection. Upon consideration whereof, ~and on motion of P.~.
Covington, it is resolved that the connection fees for the Ettrick Sanitary District
be raised to ~i~50.O0 for' water connection and ~i:&5.00 for sewer connection.
This day the Executive Oecret~ry rer:uested that the sum of ~g20.50 be transferred
from the unappropriated surplus of the General ~'und to the Police Department 6a-226
in order that the Arnold Company be paid for their services in making a change over
of the radi. o and mobile units in the Police Department as authorized by the then
Chief of Police, Chas. A. ~lyburn, Jr.
Upon consideration wher~of, and it apb;earing that the services of the Arnold Company
were had in the change over during the fiscal year 19~g-'49 and that it is necessa~
that an appro.oriation be made to the budget of the Police Department for the year
-'50. U~on consideration whereof, and on motion it is resolved that the sum of
,;~/~20.~O be and it hereby is appropriated from the unap[~ropriated surplus of the
General Fund to the Police Department-6~226,for the payment of this bill, and tl.at
the budget be amended accorctingly.
This day the marl.er of an increase in salaries of I~lrs. Helen 1,[cL.Ramain~, Switchboard
Operator and Henry. L. Goode, Trash Truck operator, carae before the Board, and it
appearing that the budget carries such increases, it is resolved on motion, that
the salary of Plrs. Helen i~[cL. Ro~aine, Switchboard Operator be fixed at ~150.O0 per
month and that of Henry L. Goode be fixed at ~,150.00 per month, effe~2ive July 1, 19~9.
.WHEREAS~ the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Depar.t. ment ~.f. Highways has prepare~
~and submitted plans to the Board for the constn~ction or imsrovement of a section of
i~ou~ 678 of the State Secondary System, Project 1~20-0-~, (~ld 13~-P,), in Chesterfi~
