Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of J.C.McKesson, it is resolved that the
Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County sell to Scott, Homer and Mason, Inc.,
$400.000.00 worth cfr evenue bonds for Chesterft~ ld County at an interest rate of

~onds now outstandYng~ On this matter Mr.H.T.Goyne voted "No" and asked that

This day Mr. W. A. Horner appeared before the Board asking for a Use Permit to
erect an apartment house at the intersection of Dorset Road and W~rwick Road in
,Chesterfield Court". Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of H. T.
Goyne, it is resolved that the Executive Secretary be and he hereby is instructed
to advertise this request for public hearing at a later meeting.
This day the Executive Secretary stated that he had received further bids from his
requests on the 100,800 gallon water tank and that the Pittsburgh Des-Moines
Steel Company now appeared to be low bidders and Mr. Beck, representative of the
P~ tsburgh Des-Moines Steel Company appeared before the Board and s tared he would
ell two (2) 100 OO0-gallon water tanks for $35,280.00, guaranteed price, and

delivery to be made before June l, 949, P
befell them. Upon consideration w~xereof, and on motion of James W.Gordon, Jrt,
it is resolved that the County of Chesterfield purchase two (2) lO0,O00-gallon
water tanks from the Pittsburgh Des-Moines Steel Company of Pittsburgh, Pa., in
accordance with their bid for the sum of $35,280.00 one t9 be erected near Bun Air
and one on Route #l, near Dutch Gap corner.

three building lots, which under the Zoning Urdinance would require 220 fee~
frontage. Upon cunsideration whereof, and on motion of H.T.Goyne, it ms
resolved that the Executive Secretary inform Mr. Jones that the Boar~.must conform
to the Zoning Ordinance and deny perm~ sion to so divide these lots.
This day the Executive Secretary read a letter from James B.Friend offering to the
County the water system in "Brenda Court". Upon consideration whereof and un
motion uf H.T.Guyne, the Chairman is requested to appoint a Committee to view this
system and report back to this ~oard.
Whereupon, the Chairman appointed Mr.H.T.Goyne and the Executive Secretary as
th~ Committee.
This day ~r.. Ir~vin G. Homer state~ that from his observation and from the compara~qle
traffic coun~ ~rom Rt. 60 and Rt.360, there was more need of a four-lane road on
Rt.360 than on Rt.60. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of Irvin G.
Horner, it is resolved tha~ithe Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County request
the Virginia Department of Highways to give consi&eration to the improvement of
Rt.360 and establishing a four-lane highway from the City Limits of Richmond a s
far west as the crossing of Nuttree Creek.
This day Mr.H.T.Goyne stated he ~d a complaint from M~.E.M.Davis of Ettrick about
the water pressure in his home. On motionof H.T.Goyne the matter is referred to
Mr.P.W.Covingto~, SuperVisor of ~atoaca District and the Executive Secretary,
W. H.Caldwell, for investigation.
This day Mr.H.T.Goyne stated there w as a serious drainage condition at Kingsland
Creek and Rt. 145. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of H.T.Goyne,
it is resolved that the Executive Secretary be and he hereby is instructed to
investiEate this matter with the Resident Engineer of the Virginia Department of
Highways and endeavor to have this condition corrected.
Ordered that the meeting be now adjourned until 8:00 p.m. September 28, 1948i
