Sutton, for a permit to establish a dog kennel on the Warwick Road, near ~pthill Heights". Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of ~,.A. Homer, it is resolved that this matter be continued for hearing on November 12, 1946. This cay ~r. T.D. Watkins, stated that there had been a consiaerable number Of requests for the t~king in~o the Secondary Road System, a road leading to the property of L~s. Rudd, from Rt. 147, west of ~dlothian, Upon consideration where- of, and on motion of T.D. Watkins, it is r~solved that the County Road Engineer be and he hereby is requested to investigate this road and take such steps as necessary to have the same taken into the Secondary Road System. This day ~.r.T.D. Watkins, stated that he had been reouested to investigate the possibility of having taken into the Secondary Road System, a road in Midlothian District, leadin~ to the Corley property, west from Bon ~ir; Upon condieration whereof, and on motion of T.D. Watkins, it is resolved that the County Road Eh- be and he hereby is recuested to investigate the same and take such steps as necessary to have this road taken into the Secondary Road System of Chesterfield County. This day ~. J.C. Hening stated that there had been a number of requests for the inclusion into the Secondary Road System, a road west from Rt. 649, Newb~'s Bridge Road, known as the Burton Road. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of J.G. hening, it is resolved that the County Road Engineer be and he hereby is instructed to investigate the sane and take such steps as necessary to have this road taken into the State Seconaary Road S~stem of Chesterfield County. This day the E~ecutive Secretary presented an ap~lication from ~Irs. Anne F. L~yers, for the re~oning of a parcel of land on Rt. 10, at the intersection ~ith Rt. 145. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of J.C. Rening, it is resolved that the Executive Secretary be ~nd he hereby is instructed to advertise the same to be considered at a public hearing on November 12, 1946. This day application ~as submitted from Mr. Cail ~J. Erb for the rezoning of an area near "Bellewood ~anor" from Residential to Local Business for the purpose of erect- lng a barber shop. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of H.T. Coyne, it is resolved that the ~xecutive Secretary be instructed to adVertise the same and that a public hearing be held on this matter on November 12, 1946. This day an application from ~. S.B. Pruden was submitted by the Executive Secre- tary, to establish a general merchandise business on the north side of Rt. ze0, apDrovimately 1/~ mile west of the Nanchester High School. Uoon consideration whereof, and on motion of '.,'.A. Homer, it is resolved that this~matter be continued until Nowmber 12, 1946, for a decision. This day an apDlication was presented by ~. W.D. Ferebee for a permit to erect a grocery store and eating establishment on Rt. 60, about 1/4 mils east of the inter- Section of Rts. 60 and 653. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of T.D. batkins, it is resolved that this matter be held over until November 1£,194d for action. This day the Exscu~ive Secretary read a letter from the 0lc Dominion ~iousing Administration, enclosing a sample resolution that they would like to have enectec by the Roard of Supervisors of Chesterfield County. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of ~'J.A. Horner, it is resolveG that the Commonwealth's ~ttorney be and he hereby is requested to prepare a suitable resolubion in this matter to be submit- ted to this Board on Eovember 12, 1946. This day the attention of the Board was called to the fact that a number of houses were being built in Chesterfield ~ounty which were unsafe and unsatisfactory, and it ~Jas f.olt ~hat so~e steps shculd be taken to restrict such building. Upon consider- ation whereof, and on ~otion of H.T. Goyne, it is resolved that the Commonwealth's Attorney and the t~x~cutive Secretary be end they hereby are instructed to take the necessary steps to prepare a building code for Chesterfield County. This day ~. H.T. Goyne, stated that a ~ection of Et.611, east of Bellewood ~lanor was in bad condition. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of H.T. Coyne, it is resolved that the Virginia Department of Highways be and it hereby is requested to improve and surface treat Rt.611, east of Bellewood Manor for a distance of approximately .2 of a mile. The undersigned County Road Engineer having been directed at a previous meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County to examine a portion of Stockton Street, a portion of Dellwood Avenue, 50th Street, 48th Street ~nd 49th Street, in the Subdivision of "Woodstock" and report to this Board the expediency of esta- blishing said streets as public roads, reports as follows: That he v~nt upon said streets and examined the same, and is of the opinion that there is a necessity for the establishment of said streets as public roads, and fur th er (1) The said roaCs will be of great public convenience. (2) That they will not be of mere private convenience. (Z) No ~ard, garden, or orchard will be taken. (4) The said streets are roads in a subdivision and land dedicated to the Commonwealth of Mirglnia and therefore land o~ners along said raods will not receive co~pensation. (5) No land o~ner requires co~pensation. (6) There will be no compensation. Attached hereto is a sketch or diagram shov~in~~ the streets and the ap proxim~te location of houses thereon. The map of the subdiMision referred to is recorded in Plat Book 8, page ES, of the Clerk's Office in said County. This day the County ~oad hngineer in accordance with directions from this Board mad~ a report in writing upon his examination of a portion of Stockton Street, a portion of Dellwood ~venue, 50th Straight, 48th Street, and 49th Street, in the Subdivision of "Woodstock" which report shows that i~ the opinion of the County Road Engineer it is expedient that ~uch roads (streets) be established as public roads. Upon consideration ~her~of, and on motion of W.A. Homer, it is resolved that a portion of ~tockton ~treet, a portion of Dellwood Avenue, 50th Street, ~Sth Street, and 49th Streot in the Subdivision of "~oodstock" be and they are hereby established as public roads. And be it further resolved that the Virginia Department of Hi~hways be end it hereby is reeuested to take into the Secondary System of Chesterfield County, Stockton Stre from Rt. 1el to 50th ~treet, a distance of .2 of a mile. This is a connection road and there are no house on it. Del~wood ~venue from Rt. 161 to 50th Street, a dis- tahoe of .2 of a mile, this ~s a connecting road and there are no house on it. 50th ~treet from Stockton Street to ~ell~'ocd Avenue, .1 of a mile. There are 5 hooses on this street. 48th street from ~tockton Street to Dellwood Avenue, a dis- tnace of .1 of a mile. There are 4 house on this street. 49th Street from Stccktos Street to Dellwood ~venue, a distance of .2 of ~ mile. ?~hree houses are on this street. ~nd be it further resolved that the ~oarG of ~upervisors of Chesterfield County ~uarantees a right-of-way for these streets to the State Department of Highways of not less than thirty feet. The undersigned County koad Engineer havin~ been directed at a previous meeting of the Board of oup~rvisors of Chesterfield County to examine Brightwood ~enue, Belme~ ~venue, Beaumont ~venue and the hxtension of Ridge Boulevard (Rt. 611), in the subdivision of "Central Park" and report to this Board the expediency of est~blish- in~ s~id avenues as public roads, reports as follows: That he went upon said avenues and examin~d the same, and is of the opinion that there is a necessity for the establishment of sai~ avenues as public roads, and further - (ll That said roads will be of gre~t public convonience. This road serves 4 houses. Ridge Boule- vard (Rt. 611) extending west ,2 of a mile. This ext~nsicn of Rt. 611 will serve as a connecting road to Belmeade ~venue and Beaumont Avenue and will serve 5 houses. And be it further resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County guarantees a right-of-~vay to the, ¥irginis De~artment of High~ays of not less than 30 feet for these streets. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of ',;.A. Horner, it is resolved that the Granite Eineral Springs Road be and it hereby is ~,~st~blished as a public road. And be it further r3solved tl'~at the Virginia Department of Righways be and it here- by is requested to take into the Secondary Ro~,d System of Chesterfield County, Granite ~.~neral oPrings Road, running south from its intersections, with Rt. 60, .~2 of a mile west from the intersection of Rt. 60 and Rt. 687 to a dead end, a distance of .3 of a mile, and there are 3 houses along this .3 of a mile which are served, and 2 houses beyond the end of this road which will be served by it. Trueheart made by '~.b~. I~aPraae & Bros. and dated ~ay 20,1931, be opened as a public road as far as the end of a piece of property shown on this plat as Lot "A" ant now belonging to ~rs. C.~. ~erritt; thence westwardly along the property of ~,~rs. C.B. Lashley and acrosa a narrow sttp of land along the Seaboard ~irline .Rail- road belongin~ to ~s C.A. ~.erritt to the crossing of the Seaboard ~kirline Railroad Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of H.T. Coyne, it is resolved that DeLavis :~treet and its estension as reporte~ by the County Road Engineer be and the same is hereby establishec as a public road. ~knd be it further resolved that the ¥ir~!inia Department of Highways be and it hereby is requested to take into the Secondary Road System of Chesterfield County DeLavial Street as sho~n on a plat mede b~. W.W. LaPrade and Bros. and dated May 20,1931, a copy of which is hereto attached, and the extension westwardly of this street et its intersection with the property of ~.Trs. C.B. Lsshley across the property of ~f~s. Lashley and a narrow strio of property o~uned by M~s. C.A. ~lerritt to the cross- ing' of the Seaboar~ ~irline Railroad, a distance of .3 of a mile. This house serves 5 houses. And be it further resolve~ that the Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County guarantees a right-of-way to the Yirginia Department of Highways of not less than ~0 feet for this road. (2) That it will not be of mere private convenience. (~) No yard, garden or orchard will be taken. And be it further resolved that the Virginia Department of Highways be and it is hereby is requested to take into the Oecondary Road System of Chesterfield County, Railroad nvenue in Chester, parallel to the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad and runnin, from Cill Street to Dodmeade, a distance of .18 of a mile, ~hich street is a con- necting street and also serves i house. And be it further resolved that the Board of ~up~rvisors of Chesterfield County guarantees a right-of-way to the State Highway Department of not less than thirty feet for this road. This road serves 3 houses. ~nd be it further resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County guarantees a right-of-way to the State Department of Highways of not less than 30 feet for this road. The undersigned County head ~ngineer having been directed at a previous meeting cf the Board of Oup~rvisors of Chesterfield County to examine a section of Old }fundred Road, east of ~'l, near the Junction of Route i and Route ;j, 10, and report to this Board the expediency of establishing said road as a public road, reports as follows That he went upon said road and e~amine~ the same, and is of the opinion that there is a necessity for the establishment of same as a public road, and further - 211 That said road will be of great public convenience. ihat it will not be of mere private convenience. (3) No yard, garden, or orchard will be taken. (4) The land owners along this road have agreed to give to Chesterfield County a minimum right-of-way of thirty ~eet without compensation. This day the County Road Engineer, in accordance with directions from this Board made a report in ~iting Upon his examination of a portion of the 01d Dominion Road near the intersection of Rts. ~l and ~10, Which report shows that in the opinion of the County Road ~ngineer it is expedient that. s~id road be established as a public road. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of H.T. Coyne, it is resolved that a por- tion of the 01d Hundred Road ~e and the same is hereby established as a public road. ~nd be it further resolved that the Virginia Department of Highways be and it here- by is requested to take into the Secondary Road System of Chesterfield County a portion of the 01d HunGred Road, runnin~ eastwardly from its intersection with Rt. ~l, 400 feet from the intersection of Rt. l~nd Rt. 10, a distance of .4 of a mile, ~hich road serves five ho~ses. ~Ud be i~ further resolve~ ~hat the !~oard of Suporvisors of Chesterfield Country guarantees a right-of-way of not less than ~ feet to the VirginieDepartment of Highways for this ro~d. (~) That the road will not be of mere private convenience. (Z) No ~ard, garden or orchard will be taken. (4) The said ro~d is in a subdivision and land dedicated to the Commonwealth of Virginia and therefore land o~'~ners ~long said road will not receive compensation. (5/ No land owner requires compensation. (6) There will be no compensation. Attached hereto is a sketch or diagram showing th~ ro~d and the approximate location of houses thereon. This day the County noad Engineer, in accordance ~ith directions from this Board made report in writing upon his ~x~mination of Omo ~oad in the Subdivision of "Ampthill Heights" which report shows that in the opinion of the County Road Enginee it is expedient that said road be established as a public road. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of J.C. Rening, it is resolved that Omo Road in the subdivision of "Amptttill Heights" be and it hereby is established as a .public road. ~nd ~e it f~rther resolved Lhat the Virginia Department of Highways be and it hereby is requested to take into the ~econdary System of Chesterfield County Omc Road in th subdivision of "Ampthill Heights" westwardly from its intersection with Rt. l~, .25 of a mile from th~ intersection of oRts. l0 ~nd 638, for a distance of .~ of a mile which road serves five houses. And be it further resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County ~ua- rantees a right-of-way to the State Department of Highays of not less than ~0 feet for this road. The undersigned County Road Engineer having been directed at a previous meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County to ex,mine Cox Avenue, Southall Avenue, Watson ~venue and Cregory ~venue, in the subdivision of "Chesterfield Court" and report to the BoarG the expediency of establishing said avenues as public roads, reports as follows: That he went upon said ~venues and examined the same and is of the opinion that there is a necessity for the establishment of said Avenues as public roads and fur~ ther - (1) That said roads will be of great convenience. (2) They will not be of mere private convenience. (3) No yard, garden, or orchard will be taken. (4) The said Avenues are roads in a subdivision and land Gedicated to the Commonwealth of Virginia and therefore land owners along said ro~ds will not receive compensation. This day the County Engineer in accordance YJith directions from this Board made a report in writing of his examination of Cox Zvenue, $outhall ~venue, '.Jatson ~venue and Cregory ~venue in the Subdivision of "Chesterfield Court" which reports shows that it is the opinion of the County ~oad hngineer that it is expedient that such roads (streets) be established as public roads. Upon con~ieration whereof, and on motion of '.,.A. Morner, it is resolved that Cox Avenue, Southall Avenue, Watson Avenue and Gregory Avenue in the subdivision of "Chesterfield Court" be and the same are hereby established as public roads. And be it further resolved that the Virginia Department of Highways be and it here- by is requested to take into the SeCondary Road System of Chesterfield County, Cox Avenue in the subdivision of"Chesterfield Court", running from Broadrock Road, Rt. l0 to Dorsett Road, Rt. 717, a Cistance of 1200 feet and serving 3 homes; Southall Avenue in the subdivision of "Chesterfield Court", running from ;Jarwick Road to Cox Avenue, a distance of ll0G feet which aw~nue serv¢3 6 houses; ~,atson ~venue i~ the subdivision of "Chesterfield Court", running from ~;atsoh Avenue to Cox Avenue, a distance of 1000 feet, which ~;venue serves 4 houses; Gregory's ~venue running from $outhall Avenue to Dorsett Road, Rt. 717, a distance cf 700 feet. This avenue is a connecting avenue and does not directly serve any houses. And be it further resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County guarantees a right-of-way of not less than 30 feet for these streets to the Virginia Department of Highways.
