Be i t h~re noted that the County School Board was in attendance at this
meeting.

It appearing to the Board that a flow of water from the \~ll being drilled on
the public grounds at this Courthouse, measuring a minimum of twenty-gallons of
water per minute on a twenty-four hour pump test, is suffioient for County purposes
it is resolved on motion of G.Vf.Diggs, that the Exlrcutive seoretary be and he
hereby is, directed to have a twenty-four hour pump test made, and be it further
resolved that should the test prove a minimum flow of twenty gallons per minute
the drilling is to be stopped.

This day came A.M.Toler of A.M.Toler and Company, and presented and read his
report of his audit of the County'S books. On .t1crtion of G.~l.Dlggs, the Board
expresses gratitude to A.M.Toler for the finely detailed repor~ presented to this
Board this day. And be it further resolved that the Executive secre~ary be and
he hereby is, directed to pay with his Warl'fint the claim of A.U.Toler and Company
for preparation of the aforesaid audit and report to this Board.
The Executive Seoretary 8xplElined to the Board th€:t the Federal Bureau of
Investigation conducts a thirteen weeks school for Police Offioers, with no cost
other than the travel and living expenses of those attending, p.ud recommended to
this Board tliat application be made for a representative from tre Chesterfield
County Police DepartDent to attend the classes beginning lfuy 1st, 1939. On motion,
of H.T.Goyne, it is directed that Chas. W. Smith, Chief of County Police, make
application to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for one representative fram the
Chesterfield County Police to attend classes beginning May 1st, ~ 9. And be it
further resolvea that Chas. W. Smith, be the person to attend the~e classes from
this County, the regular expense of such attendunce to be borne by the County.
On motion of G.W.Diggs, the County will supplement the saiary paid to Robert
L. Pond, liB Works Progress Administretion foreman on the Camp Boker Improveaent
Project, witlr an additional salary of $25.00 a month during the ti{ne that he is
employed on the Camp Baker \iorks Progress Mministration Pro j eot.
It appearing to the Board that the typewriter novl being used by the Clerk of
the Trial Justice Court is very old and in need of expensive repairs, the Board dot 1
resolve on motion of R.T.Goyne, that the Executive Secretary investigate the matter
and repair said typev~iter or purchase a new typewriter as it is in his opinion
practicable.

This day there was presented a writing purporting to be a proposed statement
of this Board concerning this Board's agreement to "use every effort to urge proper
maintenance of said work", in and about Vlorks Progress Administration Malaria Contr)l
Proj~ct; and it appearing to this Board that this Board has heretofore, by reso-
lution, authorized the Executive Secretary of this Board to sign agreemen~s con-
cerning the maintenance of said projects.
. It is therefore, resolved,on motion of G.W.Diggs, that said writing be not
adopted, and the same is filed.
