Chnll;:ley, Cllairnen, Galus 'Ii.Dief',s, John B. '.latkins ,Jr., Harold T . Goyne , Hilary L.Fercusson, Horace A. Holt Vlherens, on hpril 11,""1939, this Board by resolution, tentatively adopted a budget for the year 1939-1940, omitting therefron aIljr provision in the School Bud8€Jt thereof any appropr iation for furnishin[ of free text books in the public schools and providing for vocational education therein, and, 'Hhereas, it appearing proper to do so, in order that the School Board nif"ht reconsider its budget in those particulars, that this Boare rescind such acti~m. Therefure, on notion of G.\l.Digfs, it is resolved that this BOard's action of April 11,1939, wherein it tentetively adopted a budget for the year 1939-1940, and the levies required for such budget, be, Emd the sp~e is hereby, rescinded. On notion of G.\l.D:i€~r,s, it is resolved that the County SChool Board of Chesterfield Count~l, be, and it hereby is, requested to reconsider its budget heretofore submitted to this Board and particularly those proportions of same which relate to the furnishin~ of free text books in the public schools and of vocational educution therein. lUld be it further resolved, that the Executive Secretary be directed to immediately report this Board's action to the said &hool Board. " \lhereas, the County School Boare. of Chesterfield County hHving been requested by this Board to reconsider its budget, and, \lhereas, E.S.H.Greene, Supt. of Public Schools, speaJ;dng for said School Board app;: ared before this Board and presented to this Board the reconsideration of its budget, where in it provided fa r furnishing of free text books in the publi c schools of Chesterfield County in the year 1939-1940. On notion of G.H.Dir:gs, it is resolved that the said revised bud.e:et of said School Board be find the SONe is hereby accepted. On motion of Horace L. Chnlkle~t, it is resolved that this Board take under consideration at its next regular neeting an Ordinance prohibi tin~ the sc..le of wine Hnd beer in the County of Chesterfield, betv.een the hours of twelve nidnicht af every 3aturdoy and six anteneridian every Monday. This day a p~tition frofl citizens in Chesterfield Gardens requesting this Board to \l1den LinHood ii-venue from its prellent width of 25 ft. to a minimum width of 30 ft. On notion of H.L. Fergusson, it is resolved that the County Road Engineer be, and he hereby is, directed to nuke a view of the proposed vndening of said road l'"nd report his findings to this Board as is required b;r laW. III the flatter of a IJetition fron property owners and users of secondary road route 11639 for an extension thereof, on notion of G.W.Diggs, the same is lIteferred to the Road Comnittee for its report at the next regular meeting. On motion of H.T.Goyne, it is resolved that the Road Budget, this day presented by D.E.Huddle, Resident Engineer, Departu8ntof Highways, be, and the same is hereby, approved, and the Executive Secretary is directed to sign such approval on behalf of this Board. And be it further resolved that D.N.Huddle, be extended a vote of thanks for his services in this particular. . On notion of G \1 D:!fcgs, it is resolved thut this Board adjourn to meet again on Friday J.. ril 21; 1939, at 7:30 P M. at which time the budget vl.i.ll arain be considered.
