Watkins, Jr., the Executive Secretary is authorized and directed to write an expression of appreciation for the outstanding w'ork done by the American Red Cross in Chesterfield County and for the splendid oooperation of its local Chairman Mrs. Thos. S. Wheelwright, and the report is filed. This day, came J.C.McKesson, and requested on behalf of the Electoral Board that the compensation of too judges, oommissioners and olerks of elections be increased to ~5.CO per diem,. Again the matter of the insanitary oondltions In and around the 'fawn of 'Colonla1 Heights Colonial Heights was brought to the attention of the Board and the Executive Secretarr reported that the exlstenoe of a dam aoross the branch leading fran Colonial Heights to Old Town Creek, along the Seaboard Air Line Railraad,oaused the branoh water duri~ .haavy rains to back up and flood the pumplng station and a man-hole of the Town ot Colonial He 19hts 1 sewer and thus cause same to fail. On motion of Horaoe A. Holt, the opening of a channel for the aforesaid branch be, and it ..hereby Is, Included in the county-wide W.P.A.
