D. lia tkins Absent: P.H.'-'ovington This day again the matter of a resolution of the County School Board of Chesterfield County, Virginia, which was presented to this Boerd in its meeting on February 13, was presented to this Board regarding the approval of a loan of $100,000.00 for the construction of a high school at Chester, and upon consideratio~ whereof it is resolved, ! That the application of the County School Board to the State Board of Lducation of Virginia, for a loan of $100,000.00 from the Literary Fuhd, is hereby I approved, and authority is hereby granted the said County School Board to borrow th~ said amount for the purpose set out in said application. i The Board of Su~rvisors for said County will each during the life of this loan, at the time they fix the ref.ular levies, fix a rate of levy for schools or make a cash appropriation sufficient for operation expenses and to repay this loan in annual installments, and the interest thereon, as required by law regulat- ing loans from the Literary Fund. This day~again the matter of a resolution of the County School Board of Chesterfield County, Virginia, which was presented to this Board in its meeting on I February 13, was presented to this Board regarding the approval of a loan of I $100,000.00 for the construction of a high school at Manchester, and upon considera1 tion Whereof it is resolved, i That the application of the County School Board to the State Board of Education of Virginia, for a loan of ~lOO,OOO.OO from the Literary Fund, is hereby i approved, and authority is hereby granted the said County to borrow the said amount i for the purpose set out in said application. The Board of Supervisors for said County will each year during the life This day came E.S.n.Greene, Supt. of Schools of Chesterfield County, and read before this Board a resolution of the County School Board in its meeting of March 4, 1940 in the following words and PhBases: "On motion of Dr. Richardson, it was ordered: First, that the Chester- field County School Board request the Board of Supervisors to approve the loan of $100,000.00 fOr the Manchester District High School addition and $100,000.00 for the Chester High School addition as already requested by a previous resolution, and Second, that if the Board of Supervisors finds it possible to finance the buildings and consider the consolidation of the high schools at two sites as proposed by the Commission of the State Board of Education, that the Chesterfield County School Board would heartily endorse this move and readjust its bUdget acoordingly." A motion was put by J.G.Hening and seconded by H.T.Goyne, to appropriate $275,000.00 as the sum for making the neoessary improvements and additions to the Chester and Manchester High Schools, and upon calling for a vote the motion was lost. The Executive Secretary read before tt~ Board a letter from R. Stuart Royer, in the follo~~ng words and phrases: :March 4, 1940 Re: CH.4:-40 Sewerage. Sewage Disposal and 'i~a ter Supply. "In my agreement with the Board of Supervisors, I am not to begin work on the final plans on the above referred to project in Chesterfield County until approval by the ~Jorks Progress Administration. I have just ohecked up on this project and find it has been approve~ by the Richmond Distriot Office and is now in the hands of the State Off-j ice of ',J.P.A. and will go to the Labo1" DiVision within the next few days.i As soon as the ~abor Division approves it for the labor being available I (Which w:l.ll require about two or three days), it will then go to Washing-Ii ton for final approval.
