This day the .l;;xecutive Secr8t~,ry requested the Board that permission be granted to sell a sink recently removed from use in the hdillinistrntion Building and which is not now needed by the County. Upon consideration whereof, bnd on motion of H.T.Goyne, it is resolved that the said sink be stored for such use as it may be ne8ded in the future. This day the Executive secretary re1uested the Board to authorize the sale of three electric punps belonging to the County, two of which are located on the grounds at the Courthouse and one on the County property of the \l.H.Baker Child \velfare Camp. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of T.D. \iatkins, the matter of selling the suid water pumps is hereby turned over to the Buildings and Grounds Committee and the said Committee is authorized and empowered to sell said pumps if in its judgment such sale is to the benefit of the County. ..gain in the ma tter of this County's contract wi th the City of Peter~;burg for the purchase iJnd supply of demestic water to the .h;ttrick Sanitary District #1, in Chesterfield eounty, the Bxecutive Secretary read before the Board the correspondence to and from Jos. M.Hatchett, Acting City :Manager of the City of Petersburg, regardinp the payment of water used in said stinitary district during the month of July, 1940, in v.hich Mr. Hatchett insists that the water used be paid for at the rate of ~1.30 per thousand cubic feet. It appearing to the Board that this County's contract with the City 01' Petersburg is still in force, bearing a rate of 80pts. per thousand ~ubic feet on water used, therefore, be it resolved on motion of H.T.Goyne, that the Executive Secretary be, and he is hereby directed to pay each nonth for the water used in nnd by the Ettrick Sanitary District, at the rate of 80 cts. per thousand cubic feet, plus the customary ~6.00 per month meter rent charge, and the correspondence is filed in the active papers of the Executive Secretary. It is therefore resolved on !'lotion of Ii. A. Eorner, that 5th ~treet, south from Royal ..,-venue to the south limits of I.1elrose i SubdiYision and 200 feet south from the south limits of the suid I,Ielrose SUbdivision and across the property of the Virginia ,glectric and Power Company, to the now proposed sewage treatment plant site, be, and it is hereby adopted into the County i Rouu :Jystem as a street 50 feet in width. And be it further resolved that the Lxecutive Secr~tary secure easements from the Virginia Electric and Power Company to permit the extension 01' the said 5th .street across its property. This day the Executive Secretary read before the Board the request of Mr.A.H.Pettigrew, Right of Ilay Engineer, Virginia ...epartment of' lIirhwtlys, that the County secure the necessary right of W[ij' as shown on plan~3 submitted for the revision and relocation of Houte ff651, Belmont Road, where SUllie crosses Pocoshock Creek. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of \1.A.Horner, it is resolved that the Executive Secretary be, and he is hereby directed to secure the necessary rights of V!8Y as shown on plans submitted by the said A.R.Pettigrew, provided such rights of Vlay can be acquired without cost. ...gain in the matter of the opening and improvement of the Old County Roae., southwesterly from Route tr44, HiveI' Road, by the Old Black Heath Coal Hines, and towards llidlcthian, T.D.'hatkins, Supervisor, reported for the Committee that the property ovmer,', had agreed to allow the improvement of snid road on the locetion of the now existing road as indicated in letter froIn.
