Gates, Direotor of Health, of Chesterfield County, reported on I the work of the Dppartm8nt and stated that he was handioapped because the Sani tatirn Offioer had been called into the servioe of the Army; that the Stat~ Health Dept. was cooperating by lending the-services of 1(r.1I.n.F.ul,ler, Super:fisor of Health work for this area, but it was 1mpo8sibleto oomplete all the work. Upon consideration whereOf and on motion of H. T. Goyne, it is resolved that the state Health Department be requested to appoint a Sanitation Officer for Chesterfield Coun~y and that if it was impossible to secure the services of an engineer, that the qualifications be lowered to such a point that a practioa 1 person could be I employed duri ng the emergency. ' The Director of Health, Dr. E. C. Gates, brought to the Board's attention the mattrr of trailer~ca&ps in Chesterfield County and, stated that some regulatory legislatio should be adopted regarding -teailer oamps. Murohison, SUpt. Of: the A.C.L. ER. Rocky Mount. N.C., relative to the restoration of an overhead bridge between Petersburg and Dunlop which was recently destroyed by fire, and on motion i of W.A.Horner, the letter is received and filed. I I It appearing that a permit is now necessary to be obtained from the State Health 1 Department for the operation of Camp Baker for undernou~ished children in the countr' of Chesterfield. it is resolved on motion of W. A. Horner, that this Board request permission to operate Camp Baker for the summer session of 1942. and formal I application is hereby made to the State Department of Health for same. Haning the I I This day the Executive Secretary presented a detailed report County Police Department for the year 194&, and on motion of report is received and filed. The Executive Secretary read to the Board a letter from !4r.W. E. Burtchett,' Sec'y. of the Elkhardt Farmers Club, opposing the establishment of an airport in that vicinity. T.Goyne, it is resolved that the offer of ~uinnforq Hames, Inc. to sell to the County'of Chesterfield the water supply system owned byl it at Bellwood Manor and all of the wells,pumPs, eleotric lines. pipe, gauges, I meters. meter boxes and all other appurtenances to said system, be. and the same I is hereby aooepted, this resolution to be operative, however, after a satisfactory! check of the entire water supply system, including the installation of pipe lines, I pumps. wells, and the land on which the said well is located. T. Goyne, it is resolved that the Board of Supervisors should pay to Mr. A. L. Smith. the sum of $50.00 per month. effeotive April 1, 1942; and that in consideration of this payment said A.L.
