04-21-1942 VIRGINIA: i I I At an adjourned meeting of thei Board of Supervisors of Cheste~- field County, held at the Cour1t- house on April 21, 1942. at I 8:00 O'clock p.m. : Present: H. L. Coviuston This day the me tter of the appr oval and adoption of the School Budget for the yearl 1942-'43 came before this Board, and on motion of J. G. Hening, it is resolved ! that the School Budget and the Budget of the Department of Public Welfare, be, i and the same are hereby approved and incorporated into this Board's budget for the! year 1942~'43. ! On motion of H. T. Goyne, it is resolved that this Board's Budget for the year i 1942-'43, inclusive of the Sohool Budget and the Department of Welfare's Budget, I be,and the s~ is hereby tentatively adopted. And be it further resolved that I the Executive Secremary is herepy instructed to make publication of the tentativelr adopted budget as is required by law and that :May 22, 1942, l:le. and the same is I hereby fixed as the final adoption of sa.llJ3. On motion of W. A. Horner, it is resolved that this Board tentatively adopt single! levies for this County in the following amounts for the following respective ' tax districts, to-wit: ~ Bermuda Magisterial District Clover Hill Magisterial District Dale Magisterial District Manchester Magisterial District Matoaca Magisterial District Mldlothian Magisterial District Ettrick Sanitary Distriot All Districts - Machinery Road Levy tl.41 1.39 1.31 1.31 1.41 1.34 1.81 .10 .03 Mr. W. A. Horner, Supervisor, reported that tie dumping ground in Manchester District had become a nuisance and that he felt that the Board shoulf find a more suitable place for dumping trash and rubbish at the earliest possible moment. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of W. A. Horner, the Chairman is I requested to appoint a Committee to make suoh investigation, and lease or purchas~ the necessary site. Vihereupon the Chairman appointed as this Committee: i Mr. W. A. Harner and Ur.H. T. Goyne. ' This day the matter of adding Fluvanna Avenue and DuPont Avenue in Ampthill Gardez:is to the County Road S1stem was brought to the attention of the Board by the Exetuti:ve Seoretary. Upon consideration whereof and onmotion of J. G. Haning, it is resOjlved that the se roads be and they hereby are added to the County Road System. ' This day the Execut~ve Secretary brought to the attention of the Board the reques~ of Chief of Police, C. W.Smith, that Mr. Douglas W. lfurphey be sent to the school! for the Control of Fire and Gas, to be held at Edgewood Arsenal. On motion of T. D. Watkins, the Executive Secretary is requested to make arrangements to send Officer Murphey to this School, at a time which will be suitable to the Chief of Police Mr. O. W. Smith.
