Consideration of Applicants for Midlothian District Supervisor
Summarvof Information:
On July 7, 2006, the Board began accepting applications for appointment to
fill the position of Supervisor elected from the Midlothian District vacated
by Mr. Barber's resignation. Seventeen candidates presented themselves prior
to the cut-off of 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17th. The interim replacement
will serve until the election results are certified from the special election
for Midlothian District Supervisor to be held on November 7, 2006. The
interim replacement must receive three votes from the remaining four Board
members and the appointment requires separate meetings to nominate and then
appoint unless the Board suspends its rules to nominate and appoint at the
same meeting. Upon appointment the interim supervisor would take office
after taking an oath, filling out various disclosure forms and obtaining a
surety bond by the Risk Manager.
