NOTICE
That the Board or Supervisors of Chesterfield County will on
December 10, 19S8, at 2:30 p.m., at its meeting room at Chesterfield
Court House, Virginia, take under consideration the rezoning and/or
granting of a Use Permit on the following described parcels of land:
1. In Manchester Magisterial District, a parcel of land
rronting ISO feet on Rt .645 and extending eastwardly 150,',ft. along
the southern line of Rt.1683, on which is requested a US~
Permit to operate a service station by Mr. E.G. Martin.
2. In Manch ester Magisterial District, a parcel or land fronting
75 feet on the Belt Boulevard and extending northeastwardly
300 feet, said parcel being 300 feet northwest or Berkley Road,
which is proposed to be rezoned from Residential-2 to General
Business on application of Mr.W. 8. Pinchbeck.
3. In Manchester Magisterial District, a parcel or land fDonting
100 feet on Belt Boulevard and extending southwestwardly
300 feet, said parcel being 700 feet northwest rrom Berkley Road,
which is proposed to be rezoned from Residential-2 to
General Business on application of Mr. W.S.Pinchbeck.
4. In Manchest er JV'iagisterial Di strict, a parcel of I and rronting
100 fe,t on Shaw Lane and extending northwardly 200 reet, said
parcel being 1100 feet east ofRt.637, on which is requested
a Use Permit to operate a cabinet shop by Mr. C.E. Hoyle.
5. In Matoaca l'Iagi sterial District, a parcel of land rronting
200 feet on the Woodpecker Road and eMtending westwardly
400 feet, said parcel being 900 feet north of Southlawn
Avenue, which proj:erty is requested to be rezoned rrom

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CHESTER-
FIELD COUNTY, VIRGINIA:
That it is necessary and expedient in the operation of
the water system of the County to acquire title to 6.38 acres
of land in Manhester District, Chesterfield County, conveyed to
Thomas Branch by deed from Sarah Shipp, recorded in Deed Book
77, page 43, in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of this
County.
That the County is unable to acquire title to the said
property~ purchase since the title to said property is defective
and the heirs of Thomas Branch, also known as Thomas Gregory, are
unknown.
The Commonwealth's Attorney is authorized to institute
proceedings exercising the right of eminent domain in order to
acquire title to said property and the Chairman of this Board is
authorized and empowered to execute any and all papers necessary
to accomplish the purposes of this resolution.

6. In I\jidlothian ~!:agisterial District, a 65-acre parcel of land,
fronting 1800 feet on Rt.714, and extending eastwardly
1450 feet'.along the northern line of Salisbury Road, which
area is requested to be rezoned from Residential-l to General
Business on application of ~~.J.K.Timmons.
7. In Midlothian Magisterial District, a parcel of land
fronting 1100 feet on Shaftesbury Road and extending
westwardly 800 feet, said parcel being 1500 feet north
of Salisbury Road, on which is requested a Use Permit
for a private park for recreational use by Mr. J.K.
Timmons.
8. In Dale Magisterial District, a pardel of land fronting
500 feet on the Drewry's Bluff Road and extending
southwardly 600 feet along the east line of Rt.637,
which area is proposed to be rezoned from Agriculture
to General Business on application of Mr.Douglas Spencer.
9.. In Dale Magisterial District, a parcel of land fronting
1750 feet on Drewry's Bluff Road and extending 1600 feet
southwardly along the east line 01 Rt. 637, except that
portion advertised in Item 8, which area is requested to
be rezoned from Agriculture to Residential-2 on application
of Mr, Douglas Spencer.

The iVilldnson Terrace Civic Association, Inc.
requests that the County of Chesterfield consider the installation
of street lights at six intersections in the community of Willdnson
Terrace, Manchester District.
We enclose herewith a plot plan of the development
and have indicated thereon the desirable locations for the six
lights.
All residents of the community have been given
sixty days for deliberation as to whether they are in favor or
against having these lights. At the conclusion of this period
there were no criticisms and we are assuming therefore that the
residents are in favor of our request.
Therefore, lie respectfully submit this request
for your consideration with the understanding that there will be
no charge to the residents of the Terrace for this installation.

I trust that this letter l-lill serve a hlofold purpose. First,
to reaffirm the interest of the home OlinerS of West Chesterfield
Heights in the improvement and development of this sub-division and,
secondly. to make a request in the interest of a convenience and a
protective measure on gakland Avenue.
Since 1950. beginning with ~~ family and, later, several fandlies.
we have endeavored to develop the kind of community upon which the
county would put its stamp of approval. We have made requests for cer-
tain road imurovements which we understand will be taken care of as soon
as the funds' are available. thus enhancing thc value of the property in
West Chesterfield Heights. We are appreciative of this favorable consider-
ation, and shall continue our interest in the improvements in this area.
Immediately, I am making a request that an electric light be placed
at a location on Oakland Ave. 1-Ihich Hill give some protection to my home
as well as my neighbors'.
I have talked with 11r. Hagerman concerning my interest and I understand
that this convenience may be secured I.rith your approval and an expense of
approximately eighteen dollars a year for the cost of electricity since a
pole is already located at the entrance to my drive way. I expressed to
~~. Hagerman my willingness to personally pay this cost of electricity for
the protection 1-Ihich Hill be given my daughter and me.
I should appreciate greatly your approval of this request, and that
necessary steps be taken to install the light.

Report of Buildings and Grounds Committee:
It is the recommendation of the Buildings and Grounds Committee
that the old Clerk's Office be remodeled and turned over to
the School Board to be used as administrative orfices for said
Board.
It is recommended that Sketch 2 as drawn by E.Tucker Carlton,
be amended as shown on the accompanying plans.. The question
of using the existing high ceilings will be investigated further
against the cost of installing dropped ceilings as well as the
cost analysis of cinder block walls versus conventional studding
with sheet rock.
It is recognized that additional radiators
must be added to serve various ofrices, that new lights must
be installed, that rloor tile must be replaced or repaired,
and other minor' improvements.
It is recommended that air-conditioning be accomplished by
window units rather than a centnal system, since the County's
water supply at the Court House is somewhat limited and the
window units can be .more economically operated. Also, it is
recommended that consideration be given to the using or local
labor in accomplishing much of this work,and sub-contracting
that which cannot be done economically.

if balcony storage is desired.
6. Partitions in room 13 to be of cinder block construction
plastered to match existing walls.
7. Overhead lights should be dropped to a usable height.
8. Air-conditioning windowE units can be purchased at a
later date.
