Honorable Irving G. Horner, Chairman
Board of Supervisors
Chesterfield County
Richmond, Virginia
Dear Irving:
I am writing to call your attention to the fact that
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Chesterfield appointed
Edwin B. Brooks, Jr. to serve a two year term on the Board of
Directors of the Richmond Metropolitan Authority beginning on
the first day of July, 1966 and accordingly, his term of office
will expire on the last day of June, 1968. It would therefore
seem appropriate for the Board to give the matter its attention
in the near future.
§33-255.4+:12 of the Act creating the Authority
provides for the new term of office to be for a term of four
years and until a successor has been appointed and has qualified.
I might also say that Mr. Brooks is eligible for reappointment
should this be the pleasure of the Board.
After the Board has acted, I will be most obliged
if the Secretary will forward to me a certified copy of the
resolution so that it may be preserved in the records of the
Authority.
With high regards and best wishes, I remain,
Ver y yours,
A. J. Brent
