Dear Sir:
I am writing in opposition to the proposed rezoning under docket
#69-43C, which was presented to the planning commission on June
16, 1969.
We have resided at 6107 Winford Lane 5~ years and have seen an
orderly growth within the subdivision, which encouraged us in
that we had selected a respectable neighborhood. However, such
objectional developments as an Esso station, apartments and a
7-11 store have all produced blarring lights, increased traffiCL
with two accidents due to speeding, pedestrian trash, transient
neighbors who have hO concern for property owners, e~c. To permit
additional commercialization in this area would only add to the
foregoing undesirable characteristics in this subdivision.
To point out some omitted information in the evidence presented
to the comm:i!ssion, proponent Mrs. Britt is in fact in the process
of selling her property, therefore, she no longer has interest
in community affairs; the property at 1207 Newell Road owned
by Spillman Short Realtors and tra~sient tenants are disinterested
parties in community development; Mr. Edward Cox, builder on the
extension of Winford Lane, has signed a petition in opposition
to the proposal; Mrs. Rohrig, property owner on the west side
of property for rezoning has reportedly been offered $170,000 for
her 4~ acres provided rezoning to C-2 is secured on the property
in question, therefore, should be considered a neutral party in
this rezoning request. '
It has been proven in the past, empirically, when property has
been rezoned commercially that the elaborate plan of development
presented and what is produced in reality are two entirely different
horses, leaving the affected property owners at the mercy of the
developer.-
One of the arguments presented at the commission meeting was that
the entire property could not advantageously ~e developed as R-2
to which I disagree. Being a highway and a land surveyor for
several years, I am attaching a proposed scheme of development
which would prove beneficial and acceptable to the community to
demonstrate that there are feasible alternatives to the use of
this property.

We have lived here in a peaceful net~hborhood for
6t years. Hmvever, in the last few years business
establishments and apartments have been added to
the surrounding area. We were unaware that this
would happ en when ~.,e bought and improved our home
and property.
We are opposed to anr business in this area as
the traffic and noise has already doubled ~nth the
service station, Seven-Eleven Store and apartments
that were forced upon us. If y~. Bolton is allowed
to put business on his property we ~~ll have no
privacy at all.

I am writing in opposition to the proposed rezoning under docket
#69-43C, which was presented to the planning commission on June
_ 16, 1969.

We have resided at 6107 Winford Lane 5~ years and have seen an
orderly growth within the subdivision, which encouraged us in
that we had selected a respectable neighborhood. However, such
objectional developments as an Esso station, apartments and a

7-11 store have all produced blarring lights, increased traffice
with two accidents due to speeding, pedestrian trash~ transient
neighbors who have ~O concern for property owners, etc. To permit
additional commercialization in this area would only add to the
foregoing undesirable characteristics in this subdivision.
To point out some omitted information in the evidence presented
to the commtssion, proponent Mrs. Britt is in fact in the process
of selling her property, therefore~ she no longer has interest
in community affairs; the property at 1207 Newell Road owned
by Spillman Short Realtors and transient tenants are disinterested
parties in community development; Mr. Edward Cox, builder on the
extension of Winford Lane, has signed a petition in opposition
to the proposal; Mrs. Rohrig, property owner on the west side
of property for rezoning has reportedly been offered $170,000 for
her 43 acres provided rezoning to C-2 is secured on the property
in question, therefore, should be considered a neutral party in
this rezoning request.
It has been proven in the past, empirically, when property has
been rezoned commercially that the elaborate plan of development
presented and what is produced in reality are two entirely different
horses, leaving the affected property owners at the merc~ of the
developer.

Dear Mr. Dietsch:
I attended a meeting Tuesday evening June 17th of the
Planning Commission. The matter concerning me and my neigh-
bors was a request by r~. H. J. Bolton to rezone property
fronting Jahnl~e Road between Newell and Blm~emore Roads
from residential to general business. I did not know that
night that the method of opposing a matter had been changed.
I understand nmv that letters should have been forwarded to '
the commission before this meeting expresxing any objections.
Please accept this letter as opposition to add to those
the commission will transmit to the Board of Supervisors

available for more business. Many apartments in the area
has caused heavy traffic on Jahnke Road. More business vJill
increase -the traffic congestion.
I prefer that this community of nice homes remain
residential. I bought my home with the knowledge that the
property in question was zoned residential. I request that
you concur with the planning commission's recommendation
to decline this rezoning appeal when it is presented to the
members of the Board of Supervisors on July 9th.
