Specifically, with the approval of Case 87S064 the Textual Statement submitted with the application established the minimum size of multi-family units at 900 gross square feet. An amendment is requested on the subject property only to allow a maximum of forty (40) percent of the multi-family units to have less than 900 gross square feet, but in no event less than 740 gross square feet. PROPOSED LAND USE: A multi-family project as approved with the original zoning for the Sommerville mixed use development is planned. Zoning conditions would allow a total of 372 multi-family units on the subject property. A very preliminary site plan has been submitted depicting a total of 360 units. Staff (1122/98): The applicants were advised in writing that any significant new or revised information should be submitted no later than January 27, 1998, for consideration at the Commission's February 17, 1998, public hearing. Also, the applicants were advised that a $250.00 deferral fee must be paid prior to the Commission's public hearing. Staff (4/22/98): The applicants were advised in writing that any significant new or revised information should be submitted no later than April 27, 1998, for consideration at the Commission's May 19, 1998, public hearing. The density of such amendment will be controlled by zoning conditions or Ordinance standards. The Comprehensive Plan suggests the property is appropriate for regional mixed use. This request lies in a Residential (R-9) District on 46.6 acres lying approximately 250 feet off the west line of Wylderose Drive, approximately 520 feet north of Midlothian Turnpike. GPIN 729-718-Part of 2361 (Sheets 5, 6 and 7). Mr. Jacobson presented a summary of Case 98SN0164 and stated that the applicant is requesting a withdrawal.
