Meiszer County Administrator Staff in Attendance: Mrs. Sallye Anthony, Internal Audit~ Mr. Steve Micas, County Attorney Mr. Irene Ramsey, Budget Director Mr. Elmer Hodge, Manag~mmnt Services Director Mr. Jamms Edmondson, Accounting Dire Mrs. Arlene McGuire, Treasurer Mrs. Girone called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon(EST) in the absence of the Chairman at the Office of the State Treasurer, Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Meiszer opened sealed bids for $16,100,000 in Chesterfield County General Obligation Bonds with the following results: Bank Canadian/True % Cost Rank Bankers' Trust Company The Northern Trust Company The Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. Morgon Guaranty Trust Company of N.Y. Citibank, N.A. 6.42040 1 6.457020 3 6.4836 5 6.4379 2 6.4799 4 The bids were analyzed and interest rates were verified by Mr. George Pugh, Vice President of Craigie Incorporated. Mr. O'Neill joined the meeting. On motion of the Board, the following resolution was adopted: Whereas, the American people view with grave concern the flagrant disregard for international law by the Government of Iran in the illegal detention of 50 American citizens; and Whereas, the American people wish to express their unqualified support for our Government's demand for the immediate release of the American hostages; and Whereas, we wish to declare a reaffirmation of our Support to our Government in its quest for justice and freedom, and to the ~rinciples upon which this Nation was founded; and Whereas, Unity Day affords us the opportunity to join with ,ur fellow citizens in expressing our unqualified support for our Government and our illegally detained fellow Americans. Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County, Virginia, hereby proclaims Wednesday, December 5, 1979 as Unity Day in Chesterfield County. ~ote: Unanimous 3pon completion of' the bid analyses for the $16,100,000 bond issue, Mr. Pugh confirmed the interest rates as reflected in item II above and advised the Board of Supervisors to accept the iow bid ~ubmitted by Bankers Trust Company, P.O. Box 318, Church Street ;tation, New York, NY 10015. ]n motion of Mrs. Girone, seconded by Mr. Bookman, the Board acceptE the low bid submitted by Bankers Trust Company which represents True or Canadian interest cost of 6.42040 percent. ore: Unanimous 79-541 On motion of Mr. Bookman, seconded by Mr. Dodd, the Board adjourned at 12:45 p.m. to lunch with the legislators at the Bull and Bear Club. Vote: Unanimous Reconvening: On motion of Mr. Apperson, seconded by Mrs. Girone, the Board adjou at 3:05 p.m. until ,2:00 p.m. on December 6, 1979 at which time those nembers wishing to be present could hear a presentation by VCU stud~ ~n proposals for several park sites in the County.
