Mr. Dodd called the meeting to order at the Courthouse in
the Office of the County Administrator at 3:00 o'clock p.m.(EDST)
The purpose of the meeting was to consider a save-harmless
agreement for drainage improvements in Irongate subdivision.
~{r. McElfish was present and explained the engineering
design for this project indicated that off-site improvements
were necessary in order to adequately drain the site, and that
the property owners had no objection to this work, but declined
to grant an easement on their property. However, he stated
that the property owners have given written permission for the
developer to enter their property and do the construction
which has been approved by both the Virginia Department of
Highways and Transportation and the County.
Mr. Micas noted that staff had followed all County procedures
to acquire this easement, and that there was no legal problem
with entering into the agreement, and recommended approval.
After further discussion, on motion of Mrs. Girone, seconded
by Mr. Bookman, the Board accepted an agreement between the
County and the Virginia Department of Highways and Transpor-
tation for a drainage easement which exits the boundaries
of the subdivision designated as Irongate Subdivision and
further described as con~mon back property corner of Lots 9 and
10, Block M, Section 1, Irongate Subdivision and authorized
the County Administrator to sign a save-harmless agreement
with the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation
and the developer for a certain drainage easement which exits
the boundaries of the subdivision designated as Irongate
Subdivision and further described as common back property
corner Of Lots 9 and 10, Block M, Section 1, Irongate Subdivision
a copy of which agreement is filed with the papers of this Board.

that portion of Warbro Road, from the scal~ house, at the

as planned, it would be constructed to State specifications,
but felt it should be restricted Eo traffi~ weight not to
exceed three quar[er nons, such ss pickup trucks·
Mr~ Micas stated that he felt it was premature to consider
this item at this time. M_rs. Girone asked why the question
shouldn't be considered. Mr. Micas stated that the engineers
needed time to redraw the plan noting the specific site for
the scale house and Warbro Road.
