The Board meeting is called to order at 5:15 p.m. by the Chairman and general dis-
cussion is held on the departmental budget for Mental Health with Mr. Michael
Rawlings and Dr. Mort Horowitz; Recreation with Mr. Carl Wise; and Libraries with
Mrs. Gene Knoop, Mr. Elton Beverly and Mr. W. W. Gordon Came also, Mr. Bill Rib-
blett, Ms. Millie Turner, Mr. Jesse Riddel, et al., to present the Chestefield Edu-
cation Association statements on what the Chesterfield teachers are doing and the
general condition of the School Budget. Mr. Ribblett, who is a paid employee of
the Chesterfield Education Association, makes some rather harsh statements concern-
ing his views on the county's appropriations to the School Board and his concern
of the County for quality education.
~There ensues a general discussion of the status of the County budget, the avail-
ability of funds, the possibility of tax reduction and the questionable parts of
the revenue estimates for 1976.
