VIRGINIA October 14, 1958 To whom it may concern: Since July 1 of thhs year there has been a decrease of 40% in the gross business of this motel from the same period last year. By analyzing our olm records and other,~usiness indicators available to us we feel that 25% of this decrease is a direct result of the opening of the toll road. Because of the combination of toll road and recession it has been necessary to curtail our spending. This has meant, among other things, laying off help who live in the county.
