Horner, Chairman <br />Mr. H. O. Browning, Vice-Chr. <br />Mr. J. Ruffin Apperson <br />Mr. F. F. Dietsch <br />Mr. A. R. Martin <br />Mr. C. J. Purdy <br /> <br />Mr. M. W. Burnett, Exec. Sec'y. <br />Mr. John E. Longmire Asst.Exec.Sec'y. <br />Mr. Morris Mason, Comma Atty. <br />Mr. Howard A. Mayo, Jr. Co.Planner <br />Mr. Robt. A. Painter, Co. ~gineer <br />Mr. David Welchons, Asst.Co. Eng. <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Dietsch, seconded by Mr. Purdy, it is resolved that <br />the minutes of March 12, 1969 De and they hereby are approved. <br /> <br />There WQS read a resolution from the School Board presenting formally <br />a request for $28,488,361.00 for the School Budget during the fiscal <br />year 1969-'70. <br />On motion of Mr. Dietsch, seconded by Mr. Apperson, it is resolved <br />.that this Board receives the School Board request for the comihg <br />fiscal year. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Mick, President of the County Council of Parent-Teachers <br />Association speaks in favor of passing the School budget without <br />reducing the total amount. <br />Mrs. Dawn Campbell, the next President of the Chesterfield County <br />Educational Association states that the total budget should be <br />passed and can see no categories which can be reduced. <br />Mr. Bernard Savage, speaking for the Huguenot Boosters' Club wants <br />schools to be the best in the area and state~ that if the budget <br />is cut that maintenance generally bears the heaviest cut and cites <br />the malfunctioning of a drainage system at the Huguenot School. <br />Mrs. L.E. Armstrong speaks for a new opproach in informing the <br />general public concerning the tiudget and requests a special meeting <br />to discuss the budget. <br /> <br />Mr. Browning states that he agrees with Mrs. Armstrong that the <br />budget should be discussed at one special meeting. <br />Mr. Dietsdh states that we need the maintenonce suggested by <br />Mr. Savage and it is unfortunate the Board cannot reduce the School <br />budget by items. <br />Mr. Apperson states that the School system may have lost in maintenance <br />but his prime concern is for education. <br />It was generally agreed that the budget would be discussed'at a <br />later date when introduced for advertising. <br /> <br />Mr. Thomas E. McCracken, Chairman of the Girl Scout Camp Sites <br />comes before the Board stating that the Girl Scouts own S8-acres <br />in Bon Air, that they have given to the County easements for a <br />
