HOARD OF SUPERVISORS <br />MINUTES <br />March 11, 2020 <br />Supervisors in Attendance: <br />Ms. Leslie A. T. Haley, Chair <br />Mr. Kevin P. Carroll, Vice Chair <br />Mr. James A. Ingle, Jr. <br />Mr. Christopher M. Winslow <br />Mr. James M. Holland <br />Dr. Joseph P. Casey <br />County Administrator <br />Ms. Haley called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon. <br />1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />On motion of Mr. Carroll, seconded by Mr. Ingle, the Board <br />approved the minutes of February 19, 2020, as submitted. <br />Ayes: Haley, Carroll, Ingle, Winslow and Holland. <br />Nays: None. <br />2. REQUESTS TO POSTPONE AGENDA ITEMS AND ADDITIONS, <br />DELETIONS OR CHANGES IN THE ORDER OF PRESENTATION <br />There were no requests to postpone agenda items, additions, <br />deletions or changes in the order of presentation at this time. <br />3. WORK SESSIONS <br />3.A. EVERYDAY EXCELLENCE - ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY <br />Mr. David Johnson, Director of Risk Management, shared the <br />county's commitment as an employer to provide a safe workplace <br />and protect the environment. He discussed the Culture of Safety <br />initiative which focuses on empowering employees to create a <br />safe workplace, to make safe decisions, to receive training to <br />safely perform their job duties, and to take their safety <br />knowledge into their communities. He stated the General Services <br />Fleet Services Division has been a great partner and has <br />demonstrated leadership in this effort. <br />Mr. Clay Bowles, Director of General Services, stated Fleet <br />Services has achieved over 480 days (over 160,000 work hours) <br />�. without a lost -time accident since last month. He further stated <br />all General Services divisions participate in quarterly <br />Environmental Health and Safety management reviews to review <br />trends, causes of injuries, and near misses.
